ERASMUS +
Since the end of 2016, when the National Defence Academy of Latvia (NDAL) was awarded the standard Erasmus Higher Education Charter 2014-2020, the NDAL has been actively involved in Erasmus+ activities to promote the growth of international cooperation. The ERASMUS+ Higher Education Charter 2021-2027 has been awarded consecutively in 2021, as a continuation of the previous Erasmus+ cycle, which ran from 2014 to 2020. The Charter is a written document issued by the European Commission enabling higher education institutions to participate in Erasmus+ activities. By obtaining the Charter, the NDAL commits itself to the fundamental principles set out in the Charter, which higher education institutions must respect when organizing and implementing Erasmus activities.
The Erasmus University Charter is a prerequisite to:
- organize mobility of students, teaching and other staff
- Erasmus intensive language courses and intensive programmes;
- apply for multilateral projects, networks, side events
- organize preparatory visits
The NDAL organizes mobility for the development of teaching, teaching and other staff. Each year, the number of mobility events increases and more and more NDAL cadets go on a semester-long study in one of the partner institutions.
NDAL has signed several ERASMUS+ cooperation agreements with partner institutions in Europe (Lithuania, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Portugal, Romania, Norway, Italy and Greece) and plans to sign such agreements with other existing partner universities, thus expanding the range of Erasmus+ opportunities offered to cadets.
You can find out more about the Erasmus+ programme on the website of the National Agency for the Development of National Education, under "Erasmus+".
